BORELLA S.r.l. was established in 1935 as "Pastificio Bassanese"

 

 

thanks to the late N.H. Comm.Rag. Adolfo Borella di Torre,

 

thanks to the late N.H. Comm.Rag. Adolfo Borella di Torre, an ingenious,brilliant and versatile entrepreneur who realized that a Pasta Factory situated in Bassano del Grappa could greatly benefit of two important factors : the dry and the healthy climate derived from the position of the town located in a head of a valley (the northern part of Italy where olive trees grow) and the spring water of the near Val Cismon.

He rightly foresaw that, if he had taken advantages of those so favourable natural conditions and environment and used high quality flour, he would have surely obtained excellent results.

 

His fanciful and imaginative nature as well as particular good taste for genuine things pushed him to a continous search for improvement. His great desire was to find out a unique product. So he felt satisfied only when - after having reviewed traditional and old recipes from local housenives - he was able to get the famous "BIGOLI DE BASSAN"

 

 

a particular kind of dark spaghetti, thicker in size and more consistent in texture, obtained by a more revolutionized productive technique, but above all by a niser dosing of flours.

THIS "TYPICAL" SPECIALITY HAD AN IMMEDIATE SUCCESS!

Some other products were added lately,

like: the "TAJADELE DE BASSAN" (tagliatelle) : which are hand-made and are excellent especially when seasoned with the famous white asparagus of Bassano.

The "LASAGNE DE BASSAN" and the "CANNELLONI DE BASSAN" these last two can be put directly into oven without pre-cooking.
